Have you ever prayed so much about something, but somehow left God out of the actual process?
That was me not too long ago.
Early one morning, as I woke up, I sensed the Holy Spirit gently nudge me: “We haven’t partnered in a while.”
It stopped me in my tracks.
Normally, after I pray, I would say, “Holy Spirit, this week, it’s You and I. Let’s partner on these things…” and then list what was on my heart. But that morning, I realized I hadn’t done that in weeks, even though I’d still been praying regularly.
So, that Monday, I smiled and said, “Ah, I’m sorry, sir. Let’s partner again this week.”
I listed six things, including one particular request that I had been stuck on for a while. I’d been trying to reach a CEO for a meeting, but his PA kept saying he was busy. I had tried different approaches, but nothing seemed to work.
That day, I specifically asked for the Holy Spirit’s help with that situation.
By 5 p.m. that same day, five out of the six things I mentioned had aligned, effortlessly.
Then, while I was in the bathroom, the Holy Spirit prompted me, “Send him a message.” I came out, towel on my chest, and typed a short, polite message. It wasn’t anything dramatic, just a simple note asking when he might be available. To my surprise, he replied within minutes and, by himself, scheduled a meeting for the next day.
And he added, “If you ever have trouble booking a meeting with me, reach out directly. You have the go-ahead.”
I paused in awe, knelt down and said, “Thank You, Holy Spirit.” Because I knew that quiet prompting had made the difference. It wasn’t about luck or strategy, it was partnership.
Over the rest of the week, I noticed a few other things beginning to shift too: a promotion within one of the ministries I serve; premium assistance on a project that I didn’t even think to request for. And I said to myself, “Kiki, you need to do this all the time!”
See, the Holy Spirit is not a backup plan. He’s the plan. He’s our advantage, carrying what seems out of reach and bringing it right to your doorstep.
Pastor Yonggi Cho once wrote that when he learned to truly partner with the Holy Spirit, his ministry grew in ways he couldn’t have imagined. The same is true for us in business, family, work, or purpose. It’s not magic. Again, it’s partnership.
Here’s what I learned: You can either hustle your way through life or partner your way through it.
I’ve tasted both, and I would choose partnership every time. Because when the Holy Spirit moves, He exaggerates your effort. What takes others ages in struggle happens for you in moments.
And even in the waiting, you know that you’re not striving alone. There’s guidance, peace, and you are in line with heaven’s rhythm.
So, if you’re reading this, pause for a moment and whisper:
“Holy Spirit, I want to partner with You this week.”
Then, write down what’s on your heart. Be specific. And as the days unfold, pay attention to the quiet nudges, the small helps, the unexpected clarity. That’s Him partnering with you.
May we never get too familiar with the workings of the Spirit.
May we never take for granted the Advantage we carry.
And may our lives continually show what it looks like to walk hand in hand with Heaven.
